Getting there
- From a stop, "Malakhov Kurgan" to Sapun Hill can be reached by shuttle bus number 107 or the city bus number 1

Memorial complex "Sapun Mountain" (see diagram on page. 15) is located on the southeastern outskirts of Sevastopol . During World War II German troops here has been elevated to a powerful defensive line, which was considered impregnable. Despite this, 5-9 May 1944, during the storming of the city, the Soviet troops crossed that line. With this victory Sevastopol was liberated as soon as possible. In memory of these events on Sapun Hill in 1959 opened the memorial complex, the main object of which is a museum-diorama "Storm of Sapun Mountain May 7, 1944."
Name Sapun Mountain comes from the Turkic word "Sabuni," which means "soap", meaning "mountain soap." It has long been on the slopes extracted mylyaschuyusya white clay, the keel for the production of soap.
Diorama "Sapun Mountain Assault May 7, 1944" is located in a semi-circular building designed by architect VP Peter and Paul. On the second floor there is a diorama at the bottom, in two halls, the exposition tells about the heroism of Soviet soldiers in the battle for Sevastopol.

The authors of the paintings were the artists Dioramas PT Mal'tsev, GI Marchenko, and NS Prisekin, depicted the final episode of the storm, when units and formations of the 4th Ukrainian Front was to go to the top of a few tens of meters. Diorama "Sapun Mountain Assault May 7, 1944"
is the largest in Ukraine. The size of the canvas 25.5 by 5.5 meters, the area of substantive plan - 83 square meters.
On a platform in front of the museum specimens of Soviet military equipment of World War II, as well as the ship's guns and ammunition.
In memory of the soldiers who fought in Sevastopol on Sapun hill, was erected a monument to a 28-meter obelisk of Fame. On the four sides of it are built memorial slabs, carved with the names of units and formations of the 4th Ukrainian Front and the Black Sea Fleet, took part in the liberation of Sevastopol. May 9, 1970 at the obelisk was lit an eternal flame.

On the 50th anniversary of the Victory Monument was erected near the chapel of St. George.
