- From the Chapel of St. Panteleimon on the source move in a southwesterly direction along the valley of the river Tchuruk-Su. Distance - 1.5 miles.
The medieval Armenian monastery Surb Khach (translated from the Armenian "Saint Cross") is a monument of medieval Armenian architecture. In the XIII century, there was a large Armenian Solkhat colony. In 1358 in a forest near the town of Hovhannes monk with twelve other monks built a church on the site of the destroyed Greek fortifications. Later the temple were added Gavit (porch) with a belfry and a fraternal body of monastic kelyami. The complex was rebuilt several times over five centuries.
Over time, the forest monastery became the center of the Crimean Diocese of the Armenian church, a place of pilgrimage. In the early 1920s, the monastery was looted and closed. In the 50s and 70s
XX century there were archaeological research. In 1992, restoration work began. Today the monastery is valid. There are prayers, sacraments of baptism and marriage.
