Getting there  
- From the Crypt Demeter climb the stairs to Mount Mithridates.  

Mount Mithridates - is one of the most popular and recognizable places in the Kerch.   On the slopes of the mountain, whose height is 91 meters above sea level, archaeologists discovered the remains of the ancient city  Pantikapaion - the capital of Bosporus.   Excavations carried out of the city in the north-western and western slopes of Mithridates.   Currently available for inspection areas of the city, the ruins of a temple and a Greek colonnade.  

At the top of the mountain is  big Mitridatskaya staircase,  which was built in 1833-1840 under the project of Italian architect A. Digby.  

In 1944, on Mount Mithridates was installed 24-meter triangular obelisk in honor of soldiers-liberators and defenders of the Kerch.   At the base of the monument is a massive base, shaped like a trefoil.   It established a 76-millimeter  guns.   Most of the plaque in the form of an opened book made of marble.   On the side facing the city, strengthened the layout of the Order of Glory.   On a rocky promontory, known as the "first chair of the Mi-tridata" eternal flame burns in honor of soldiers-liberators and defenders of the Kerch, which was lit in 1959.
