The tower of St. Constantine, erected in 1338, is one of the most outstanding architectural monuments of medieval architecture of Feodosia. In the XIII century, the Genoese, received ownership of Kafa, began to fortify the city. Originally the territory of the settlement was surrounded by a moat and earthen rampart, and soon - and the wooden walls. One hundred years later at the Cafe was built high stone walls reinforced with towers. One of the 26 towers of the outer defensive line was named after the Roman
Emperor Constantine I the Great (280-337). Tower has played an important role in the defense system of Kafa. It was stored weapons: halberds, swords, crossbows, spears, arrows, stone core, etc.
After the fall of Kafa in 1475 the tower was added additional strengthening of stone - the so-called Turkish bastion (barbican) with casemates, which has a semicircular shape. These days in the warm season in the Turkish bastion held discos.
