Yalta Historical-Literary Museum was founded October 8, 1892 at Yalta Crimean branch of the Caucasian mountain club. In 1918 the museum was transformed into an independent institution. He became known as the Yalta natural history museum, and in 1924 was renamed the local history.
During the Great Patriotic War Museum's collection had been evacuated. The newly reopened Museum April 28, 1944. The exposition was housed in the church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, where she was until 1988. In 1990 the museum was renamed Yalta in History and Literature.
Today the museum consists of several departments of the museum and exhibits. The collection includes 135,000 items. Here you can see the collection of ancient ceramics, arts and crafts XVIII-XX centuries, a collection of etchings, lithographs and paintings, lifetime editions of the great Russian writers.
